I am getting very curious about this little machine. It appears quite powerful for a minimalist computer. Has anyone tried it, or has seen it in action?

I actually saw two of them at our local LUG meeting last Thursday. It boots very fast. The guy that was showing his had a couple of different distros to show off with it. I was thinking they might make a good little mythtv frontend.

I have one and put puppy linux on it. 26 seconds boot time. Unfortunately my hdmi monitor got stolen in a burglary and I haven't replaced it yet.
The system ran well, but in some instances of loading a web page, it was a bit slow due to only having 256mb memory.
Graphics are good and just about all programs that I tried worked well.
Amazing for such a small creature (fruit)

I was thinking the same thimg myself. Apparently this is one of it's main functions aside from being an educational device for the younger set.

That's a far quicker boot than I can achieve on a full size machine. I understand there is amovement afoot to port DSL to it, and it only requires 128MB memory, leaving more headroom for apps.

Sorry about your monitor, I hope you'll catch up with the bugger.

I see great potential for the RPi and XBMC (a beautiful media player) is already running on it.
It has the possibility of expansion in many directions through the USB and GPIO header. Ingenuity and programming will soon expand it to a much greater device.
It's a much better commodore (or spectrum)
