Major 8.8 Earthquake in Chili.

There was a major Quake that hit Chili's second largest city, Concepción this morning. From what little footage that was on the news it seems as a tremendous amount of damage has occurred. There is also presently a Tsunami warning in the Pacific that might have been generated by the quake. My sympathies to anyone that has suffered due to this incident.

Sure has been quite a bit of these quakes around recently, it makes me wonder if it might have had something to do with the massive Glacier breaking loose in Antarctica just days ago. Since all the Tectonic Plates are in constant movement what affects one can cause a effect on another.

Anyone living in Fault Zones should have their emergency kits stocked and plans made just in case.

I see that there is a Tsunami wave due to hit Hawaii at about 11:19HST Evacuations are ordered. It is also due to start hitting on the Pacific coast of California about then as well. Hope it is nothing like the one in the Indian Ocean that hit Phuket and India so devastatingly years ago.

I was watching this one on a couple of sites. Seems some damage was reported in cali but nothing major. Hawaii reported a sea level increase of a couple of feet and by the time it got to njapan and russia the estimated 3 meters turned out to be 1.5 at the most.

I was more worried to hear that the milestone 2 nuclear reactor in Connecticut was shutdown to a coolant pump failure and that in the australian outback, perch were reported to fall from the sky 2 days running (thursday and friday)
