That is neat! What is astonishing is what they could achieve with only 256k memory on board the terminal. This was during the days that assembly languate was king. It was possible to create tiny programs that would run like a scalded cat even on minimal machines by today's standards.

I would want to trade what we have today though for assembler and green screens.

The green screen is easy enough, Most monochrome monitors of the day displayed green text on a black background, much like an oscilloscope. Some of the high level languages use snippets of assembly. You are using some when invoking networking commands and such as far as I know.

Oh I remember black and green monitors. For coding I like to set my background color to black because I find it easier on my eyes, but I like having keywords and other things show up in color to make reading faster.
Its been awhile, but I did do some assembler in college. Luckily that was the only time I had to write it.
