Hello, I added this to my 11.2 but haven’t had any luck with 11.4. I am told not compatible with my Firefox. I was going to upgrade but did a fresh install instead.

Is there a site I can get this in a compatible ver.?

Is this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/merriam-webster/ the one you're trying to add? Its a search engine add on. Which version of firefox are you currently running?

I just added the above plugin to my opensuse 12.1 install with firefox 10.2 it was compatible, and then upgraded to 11 and seemed to be ok.

I am thinking of moving to 12.1 when I can make time as I have not been happy with 11.4 at all.

I don't have an 11.4 box to test with. Guessing 11.4 came with either 3.6 or a beta version like 7. Does seem like the version of suse should matter, but making sure you are on the newest firefox could. I've been happy with 12.1, only hiccup I had was the new video system. It was easy enough to disable and revert back to the old drivers.

Did you do an upgrade or fresh install?

I'm going to try an upgrade this time as soon as I get time to down load 12.1.

I did a fresh install and then enabled tumbleweed so hopefully I can just stay rolling release.

Seems I could not install Merriam Webster with 11.4 and gave it up.

I just moved to 12.1 and got it with no problems. As I get the time I will add all that I had previously as some apps. did not make it unscathed. (Thunder Bird)

So far it looks like I will get along just fine with this upgrade. As a matter of fact I chose a fresh install over top of 11.4 and surprisingly ended up with an upgrade instead.

Is this normal or do you have to wipe the drive first to get a true fresh install?

Yep, when it rebooted, my old desktop, home folder, bookmarks ect. were still in tact just a few apps had gotten corrupted but I just deal with it when I need to use them.

I noticed SUSE is tacking longer and longer to boot with every new ver.

Do you have a separate /home partition? Suse does default to that. The desktop shortcuts and such could be explained by it not getting formatted at install time.

Both installs were default with suse install (I was in a hurry) and for some reason it did not want to accept my HP all in one and I had to work on it a bit. ??

I am also having some issues with my GeForce FX5500 card. I'm going to see if there is another driver for it.

The gforce fx5500 uses the legacy driver.

The problem started with 12.1. When EVER I make any movement that brings any change to the screen, for a brief moment it looks like a monitor with the wrong frequency.

Video is also choppy and freezes. (although this may be Flash player)

Does this only happen with flash? I've always found the flash player under linux to be a little stuttery. Haven't used it for awhile but at one time chrome seemed to work better than firefox.

No, it will do it on ANY movement that will bring any change to anything on the screen at any time in any app or function.

When shutting down, it will briefly go out of synch completely.

I am using an HP vs17e flat panel and have no problems prior to 12.1.
