Finally something useful in the computer field is being accomplished.
Semi-Supervised Recognition of Sarcastic Sentences in Online Product Reviews Up til this advance many poor folks were unable to catch on that they were being taken for a ride when it came to reviews that seemed (on the face) to be serious. Now with this program you can run any online text and find out the hidden meanings that might be there.
Now it would be useless for running any of my past posts through it since I only post straightforward and illuminating information. But there are a few on Linux Forums that practice
Sarcasm!! You should be careful when you run into one of these types since a literal reading of a answer from them could find you trying to fix your computer problem by lighting candles to the PC Gods (or the Laptops ones, which though not as powerful as the PC Gods, are much more mobile) and doing the funky chicken dance. This of course will not get openSUSE to work since the correct answer is to do a Samba, but thats why it is so important to detect Sarcasm. The time saved and having your system working correctly would be immensely valuable.
Now if only they could come up with a Sincerity Algorithm so you would really know when you get an offer of 1 Gazillion dollars!, or Hot rich women are eagerly seeking friendship with you that it was aboveboard and you could then relax with all the money and women you could ever want. I am not kidding, a Sincerity detector could be one of the greatest things ever. I wonder until one comes along if I can just fake it?
