I just realized that the great fire is threatening this area. I hope you are safe Bozo.

Thanks for the thought, Laz. No worries from the fire itself, it's about 40 miles away, and they've got it pretty well contained, in this direction at least. The smoke from it has been really thick here, though, (some days the visibility has been less than 1/2 mile) and something that is burning (my guess is poison oak, I react rather badly to it) has been making me sick. We recently had a couple of clear days and it was quite a relief. But it's back again. Sad There's been a few smaller fires closer that haven't helped, either. Probably a couple more weeks before it all settles down, since there's so much fuel still inside the containment area. It's a really big fire, and not completely contained yet. The day before yesterday it grew by 20,000 acres. On the map it doesn't look like much, but only because the total area is so big already. And this weekend is supposed to be hotter and drier, so the fire activity will be increased. So it ain't over yet.

I'm glad to hear you are safe. It must be quite a trial to be affected by smoke though, and not great for your health. Can you wear a mask to filter at least some of the particles?

It's incomprehensible that this fire was started by carelessness. One would think that the climate change alone would make people think twice about fires, but to no avail.

Glad to hear you safely away from it Bozo. I had been wondering the same thing myself.
